I haven't had much free time to update the blog recently, and as a result, there's lots of new stuff to share with you all! I thought I would start with a shoot I did last week with a friend of mine from University, Ben Jelley, who has recently set up a business manufacturing and selling some truly delicious elderflower vodka. Everything from the flavours to the branding are quintessentially British - and as this is reflected in Ben's personality, we thought we would try and capture that in the shoot.
Under this pretense, and to get the creative juices flowing, I insisted on a taste of the aforementioned grog and instantly loved it. I'm no expert on alcoholic drinks, but in my opinion it has a mildy grassy or earthy aroma, and whilst it has a distinct anise flavour, this takes a backseat to the subtle but fragrant eldeflower taste. It leaves a tingling sensation on your tongue, it's smooth and simply put, tastes like summer.
I had a great time catching up with Ben and capturing some images for him. Afterwards we went for a burger and a pint in the nearby St Martins Coffee shop and through mouthfuls discussed the product shoot for his bottles.
